Geared for a Better Future

On the morning of Dec 26th, the 400 Mu (i.e. nearly 267,000 M2) Wind Power Drive Equipment Manufacturing Base in the Jiangning Science Park was decorated with colored flags and balloons, providing a cheerful atmosphere to the New Year and the lofty sentiments and aspirations of the NGC people as they set foot towards their new journey. Nearly 1500 employees from the company formed a big team for long distance running. Wearing the company uniforms and being in high spirits, they participated in the long distance running competition with the theme of “Wecloming the New Year, Visiting the New Factory, Seeing Our Development”. Mr. Hu Yueming, the Chairman and General Manager of the group company, took part in the 3180m long distance run surrounding the new factory together with other group leaders.

In the opening speech, Mr. Hu said that the past year has been an extraordinary year in the history of NGC. During the year, the whole group defied difficulties and united as one to face the challenge of the worldwide financial crisis. Now the economic situation is steady again and our career is thriving. We celebrated both the 60th anniversary of PRC and the 40th anniversary of NGC with a singing contest and the group is in a gratifying situation of development and harmony. The start of 2010 also implies the commencement of another journey of 40 years in NGC. The road ahead is long, I see no ending, yet high and low I'll search with my will unbending. We are going to work hand in hand and march forward courageously to start the second undertaking in NGC.

After a heated competition, Mr. Xu Zhongqi from the No. 6 Workshop of Gaojing Company, Mr. Zhong Zhaowei from the Storage Center of High Speed Company, Mr. Sun Jintao from the Technology Branch of High Speed Company won the First, Second and Third Prize of Men’s group respectively, while Ms. Wang Lifang from the Technology Center of Gaote Company, Ms. Li Xiaofang from the Rough Machining Workshop of Ningkai Company and Ms. Cheng Xifeng from the Comprehensive Department of Gaote Company won the First, Second and Third Prize of Women’s group respectively. The First Prize of the team event went to No. 1 Workshop of High Speed Company, while the Assembly Workshop of Gaote and No. 2 Workshop of High Speed Company were granted the Second and Third Prizes respectively.

The route of the run was surrounding the new factory of 400 Mu, which has complete advanced equipment and facilities for wind power drive equipment manufacturing. The total construction area is 300, 000 M2, among which 245,000 M2 is the workshop area. This new factory starts on a high level scheme with world advanced equipment, technology and management to satisfy not only the current domestic demand for mainstream wind turbine equipment, but also the trend of wind turbines’ moving towards a larger size, higher efficiency and higher volume.

This CHSTE long distance running competition has a theme of “Wecloming the New Year, Visiting the New Factory, Seeing Our Development”. The purpose of such activity was to welcome the coming of 2010 and advocate the life style of “sports, health, happiness” to the employees through their participation in running. The participants saw the magnificent new factory with their own eyes, thus experienced the change in NGC through scientific development. Over one thousand employees ran in the chilly wind with expectations for the new year and good wishes for the furture of NGC, offering a splendid New Year gift to all the group.
