Success in Sea Trial of NGC’s Controllable Pitch Propeller System for 1000-ton Fishery Administration Vessel

Recently, the controllable pitch propeller system produced by NGC Marine Group's subsidiary - Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., (“NGC Marine” below) for the four 1000-ton fishery administration vessels which successfully passed sea trials. The series of vessels are primarily responsible for cruising and administrative law enforcement of 200-nautical-mile exclusive economic zone and the affiliated fishing areas, and is also tasked with the important missions of maintaining the rights and interests of the national fishery, protecting the resources of marine aquatic creatures and the marine ecological environment and implementing maritime emergency rescue. The controllable pitch propeller propulsion system designed and produced by NGC Marine is also used for multiple-series ocean surveillance ships and 3,000-ton administrative enforcement ships. The successful seal trial for this 1,000-ton administrative enforcement ship further consolidates NGC Marine’s leading position in the field of supporting equipment for administrative enforcement vessels.


These NGC Marine supply devices include controllable pitch propeller systems and main propulsion control systems. The propulsion control system features dual-engine parallel operation (two main engines drive one pitch propeller), with input power of the pitch propeller being 2×2720 kW, and the five bladed paddle controllable pitch propeller self-developed by NGC are adopted. Compared with traditional four bladed paddles, the five paddle model offers greater stability in operation while satisfying speed requirements, which to some extent lowers the vibration and noise. Advanced design concepts, advanced manufacturing processes, and strict quality control measures are adopted in the design and production of the project, with reliability, maintainability, supportability, safety, testability and environmental adaptability of products all featuring further improvements. Through the recent sea trials, the maximum speed, vibration and device reliability of the vessels in high speed steering satisfy requirements of the design institute and shipowner and have received high praise from the customer.
