Geared for a Better Future

Recently, 2011 young employee skill competition, organized by youth league branch, was successfully held by finish machining workshop of Gaote. This competition was a good way to improve the skills of the young operators and strengthened their understanding to the newly developed products, in addition, this activity created a favorable environment of learning and improving, which is also a good talent backup for the company development.

This competition was fallen into four parts, including turning, grinding, benchwork, and milling, and was graded through six items, that is: preparation (15 marks), fixturing (10 marks), use of measuring tools (10 marks), machining effectiveness (15 marks), and part inspection (40 marks). During the evaluation, the judges also took into consideration of incoming materials, drawing reading, machining specification, safe operation and the cleanness, appearance and dimensional tolerance of the parts, etc.

In order not to affect the actual production tasks and to decrease the material waste to the maximum limit, full preparation had been done by the factory. The materials for the competition were the real components for the product, except for the CNC turning. To keep the fairness of the competition, the engineer from the process department and measuring department were invited as the judge, supervisors. What’s more, the factory had taken reasonable measures to avoid from the safe accident and the quality loss.

In the end of competition, the first, second and third prize were awarded to the winners.The competition was a good technique demonstration of the operators, and also a great inspiration for the young workers to learn techniques and study business.
